Dr Cyril Toma

Dr. Cyril Toma is the Managing Partner AMEA at ICME International AG, a strategic healthcare-consulting firm headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland. Dr. Toma has a 30-year successful track record in healthcare as a service provider, healthcare manager and strategic healthcare consultant. He is an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Medical University of Vienna, Austria with a subspeciality training in Orthopaedic Oncology. Dr. Toma received his MD/PhD from the Medical University of Vienna and his MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and the National University of Singapore Business School. He completed his fellowship in Orthopaedic Research at Harvard Medical School. Prior to joining ICME International AG, Dr. Toma served as the Director of Healthcare at Emirates Advanced Investment Group and CEO of Global Medical Solutions Hospital Management LLC an Abu Dhabi based healthcare management company specializing in Hospital Management, Healthcare Consulting and Medical Supply Chain Management employing 2500++ staff. Between 2005 and 2010 Dr. Toma served as the Medical Director/Chief Medical Officer of the wholly owned PETRONAS subsidiary Prince Court Medical Centre (PCMC) in Malaysia where he was instrumental in the clinical start-up, operation and accreditation of the multi-award winning, tertiary care hospital in Kuala Lumpur. In previous years PCMC has been consistently ranked as one of the top 5 hospitals worldwide, topping the ranking for two of these years. Dr Toma has authored and co-authored an extensive list of scientific publications in international peer reviewed journals as well as contributing to several book chapters. He has received multiple awards and scholarships such as being bestowed the title of Ambassador of the Bone and Joint Decade by the WHO/United Nations affiliated Bone and Joint Decade for his services in addressing musculoskeletal disease at a global level. He is fluent in English, Arabic and German and has lived and worked in the US, Europe, SE Asia and the Middle East.
